Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya
F2
The Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya has always been an important race track for the Dutch. It’s where Max Verstappen took his first Formula 1 race win, and ever since then, it’s been overflowing with orange smoke and Dutch race fans. For MP this is also one of the busiest race weekends on the calendar, as a lot of sponsors and guests come to visit us during the Grand Prix.
Not only in the paddock, but also on track the team has been very busy. The Spanish circuit has been delivering very good results in the past seasons. In 2020, we won both races in one weekend. Nobuharu Matsushita started from the 18th position and due to a safety car in the final stages, he could take his mandatory pitstop and ended up in the front of the pack. Felipe Drugovich took the win of the Sprint Race later that weekend when starting from pole.
In 2022 it was Felipe who won both races in one weekend, which meant he was the first driver in the current Formula 2 era to win both races in one weekend.

Up until now, the team hasn’t won a race yet in Barcelona, but we’re eager and hungry to get that first Spanish race win.
