After sunny Jeddah the MP team will travel to sunny Florida for the Miami GP. There has to be a first time for everything, which in this case will be the upcoming race weekend.
This weekend will mark the first time ever that MP Motorsport is racing on the Miami track. Never before did MP have the opportunity to burn rubber on the most popular course of the Sunshine state. To get to know the track, let’s take a look at what makes this one so special.
Located next to the Hard Rock Stadium, home of the Miami Dolphins (NFL), the 5412km long track is characterised by its nineteen corners and an average maximum speed of 230 km/h. It’s a purpose-built temporary circuit made to host the Miami GP. It’s a fairly new track on the calendar, hosting the first-ever F1 race in Florida during the fifth round of the 2022 season. Finally, it is marked as a street circuit. It doesn’t use any public roads but does use parts of the parking areas surrounding the stadium.
The first round of the F1 Academy was hosted in Jeddah, where the MP team managed to score points. Hamda’s P5 finish in the second race and her sister Amna finishing three places behind her meant a total of 16 points in the first weekend of the season. Emely is looking to score her first points in Miami after finishing out of the top ten in both races.
The moment Europeans are having dinner, the MP team has just enjoyed their lunch in Miami. The first race will start 14:05 locally and 20:05 CEST on Saturday, and the second race will kick-off at 13:05 locally and 19:05 CEST.
