MP Motorsport has added Juan Cota to its line-up for the 2025 F4 Spanish Championship that will kick off at Motorland Aragon this weekend. The 17-year-old Spanish driver will join René Lammers, Ean Eyckmans, Niklas Schaufler, Hudson Schwartz and Reno Francot in MP’s six-car line-up for the season.
Cota joins MP Motorsport following a breakthrough 2024 campaign in which he claimed four wins, including an impressive hattrick at Valencia, to finish fourth in the overall standings of the F4 Spanish Championship. He also brought home gold for Spain at the FIA Motorsport Games Formula 4 Cup, dominating both the qualifying and final races.
“I’m incredibly excited to join MP Motorsport for the 2025 season,” said Cota. “They are one of the top teams in European single-seater racing, and it’s a huge opportunity to continue my growth as a driver in such a competitive and nurturing environment. With the team’s experience and the strong line-up that they have, I’m ready to push for more wins and contribute to a successful season for MP.”
“We are very pleased to welcome Juan into our F4 Spanish squad,” said MP Motorsport’s team principal, Sander Dorsman. “He was one of the standout performers last season, and his win at the FIA Motorsport Games speaks volumes about his racecraft and mental strength. With Juan on board ahead of the opening round at Motorland Aragon, we are confident the team has one of the most competitive line-ups on the grid.”
Cota made his single-seater debut in 2023, finishing eighth overall in the Formula Winter Series before going on to become a points scorer in his first season in Spanish F4. Cota’s signing reinforces MP Motorsport’s commitment to developing the most exciting talents in junior single-seaters and sets the stage for a thrilling 2025 season in the F4 Spanish Championship.
