Multiple wins, poles, and podiums at Paul Ricard

Formula 4 — July 8, 2024

Almost passing the halfway mark of the Spanish F4 2024 season, we travelled to Paul Ricard for the third round of racing. The team was eager to keep the amazing flow going and extend our lead in the championship, which we were leading since the first round.

Qualifying

For the first Qualifying Session of the weekend, we were treated immensely. Mattia got his first-ever pole position and was starting Races 1 & 2 from the front. Keanu followed him up at P2, with Maciej making it full MP 1-2-3. Griffin got fifth, Lucas eighth, and René P19. It was a weekend of firsts, with Maciej getting pole in the second session. His first ever this season! Keanu got P3, Mattia P5, Griffin P6, René P13, and Lucas finished the MP grid for Race 3 at P17.

Race 1

Mattia converted his pole position into his first win of the 2024 season during Race 1! Maciej managed to secure a P4. Griffin lost 1 spot compared to his starting position and finished P7. René passed multiple competitors on his way to a P11 finish. Keanu, unfortunately, lost his wing when hitting a curb and finished the race at the back of the grid as twenty-sixth. Lucas was caught at the start and wasn’t able to finish the race.

Race 2

For the second race, again, Mattia converted his pole into back-to-back wins. Keanu managed to stay in Mattia’s slipstream and followed him past the checkered flag for P2. Maciej made it a full MP podium for the first time this season! Griffin finished at P7, René at P14 and Lucas camped with problems leading to a twenty-seventh position.

Race 3

The third and final race of the weekend was an exciting one, with action until the final lap. Maciej was in a continuous fight to keep his pole position, with Keanu putting pressure on P2 from the third. In the last lap of the race, Keanu managed to overtake the opposing driver in front of him to make it a 1-2 for the MP team! Mattia drove well to maintain his spot in fifth, with Griffin finishing four positions back at P9. Lucas got a P14 and René closed the MP grid with a P20.

A total of five drivers are currently in the top ten, with Keanu and Mattia on top after an amazing weekend at Paul Ricard. The next round will take us back to sunny Spain for the fourth round of the season, which will start on the 26th of July!
