It was a trip back to our home country as we headed to Zandvoort for the second to last race of the Formula Regional European Championship by Alpine. With changing weather conditions it turned out to be a challenge for all drivers.
This weekend Javier Sagrera joined the MP lineup, not only will he race in Zandvoort, but the last race of the season in Hockenheim as well.
Qualifying turned out to be tricky, with only Sami managing to reach the top 10 by starting in P9. It was a P15 for Javier in his first Qualifying outing for MP. Victor qualified in P22. Race 1 followed and that was not our race. Sami had a tough start and dropped to P12. Getting to the last minutes of the race, both Javier and Victor spun which resulted in a DNF for both. Sami finished outside the points in P12.
The weather was not in our favour during Qualifying 2 and disturbed the session with multiple red flags. Victor was the leading MP driver in P20, with Sami Next to him in P21, Javier was right behind him in P23. The race got spiced up by the weather bringing out the safety car within the first 10 minutes with cars in the gravel, the safety car turned into a red flag after a multi-car collision. Luckily all drivers came out unhurt. It was clean racing after the restart and Sami managed to drive to the points finishing in P9. Javier scored his best result with a P14 and Victor ended his race in P16.
