Round 4 of Dubai
Round 4 of Dubai and some new faces
The penultimate round of the winter series F4UAE and FRMEC has come to an end. Round 2 at the Dubai Autodrome saw some new faces in the MP cars when Pedro Clerot and Ismail Akhmed joined our F4UAE line-up and Sebastian Ogaard was back behind the wheel for FRMEC. It was his second time driving on the Dubai Autodrome track, as he joined us during the first round which also took place in Dubai.
Formula 4 UAE
Valerio Rinicella made great progress in qualifying, getting a P10 and P5 in Q1 and Q2 respectively. Overtaking 4 people during Race 1 he ended 6th. Meanwhile, Pedro Clerot made up some places too and as he qualified on P13 and P15, he crossed the line 12th in Race 1. Ismail Akhmed qualified P39 and P40 and after making multiple overtakes ended up P24.
In Race 2 Pedro, in his debut weekend with MP in the F4UAE series, ended up with a fantastic P5, scoring his first points for the team. Valerio finished P6 and Ismail finished P32.
Race 3 saw many safety cars, Valerio finished P5 and Pedro P12. At the end of Race 3, Ismail, unfortunately, got tangled up in an incident but made it to P37 regardless.
FRMEC
FRMEC started Saturday morning with 2 qualifying sessions. After Race one resulted in a P7 for Mari, P12 for Brad, P14 for Sami and P20 for Sebastian, the pace from the previous round in Kuwait didn’t seem to be the same. For race 2 Mari ended on P5, Brad on P13, Sebastian on P18 and Sami close behind in P19.
With two unfortunate DNFs in Race 3 for both Brad and Sami, this weekend was clearly one to forget, but we’re fully focusing on the final round next week!
Next weekend we’re back on the track with both F4UAE and FRMEC for the last round in Abu Dhabi on the Yas Marina Circuit!
