Round 5 of Abu Dhabi with a 1-2 for MP!
The final round of the winter series F4UAE and FRMEC has officially ended with Round 5 at the Yas Marina Circuit concluding the championship. Take a look back at the final round with us where we scored a 1-2 in the FRMEC series, we had a new face on the grid and Valerio came in second place in the last race!
Formula 4 UAE
Race 1 was one of ups and downs for us. Ismail, having qualified P39 ended up in P20 by the end of the race, while Pedro and Valerio dropped a few places ending in P9 and P33 respectively.
In Race 2, Valerio and Ismail both made up some places and Pedro defended his P7 throughout the entire race. Valerio came in sixth and Ismail ended in P32.
Valerio, having qualified P5 in Q2 and starting Race 3 in third position, made up 3 places throughout the race and ended up with a podium during the last F4UAE race of the season. Pedro, having started in P10 ended up overtaking 6 people and just missed out on a podium coming in P4, with Ismail having started in P40 and ending up with a P23 in his final race.
FRMEC
On the final weekend of FRMEC we saw a new face on the grid in Owen Tangavelou, who joined Mari, Sami and Brad on the Yas Marina Circuit.
We started the FRMEC weekend on a high, with Mari and Sami scoring a fantastic 1-2 in Race 1 for the Hyderabad Blackbirds by MP Motorsport Team. Having fought up the order from P3 and P5 this was a fantastic result for them. Owen on his first race with the team came in P13 and Brad came home in P18.
In race 2 Sami had an unfortunate DNF, with Mari ending P13 but after post-race penalties were applied, he came in 10th. Brad and Owen also made up a place after post-race penalties, ending 17th and 15th respectively.
Race 3 brought more misfortune to Sami, who together with Owen didn’t finish the race. Brad ended the race in P11, but after the race he got a 10 second penalty, making his final result a P13. Mari finished the final FRMEC race in P18.
