Rinicella to continue with MP Motorsport in Eurocup-3

Eurocup 3 — December 18, 2024

Valerio Rinicella will continue his journey up the single-seater ladder by once again teaming up with MP Motorsport, as the Italian embarks on his first full season of Eurocup-3 in 2025. Rinicella will join a multi-car effort by the Dutch outfit, alongside the previously announced Maciej Gładysz.

The 17-year-old Roman moves over to Eurocup-3 after a season with MP in the Formula Regional European Championship by Alpine (FRECA) that he ended on a high with a couple of points-scoring positions at the Red Bull Ring and Monza. He then travelled to Macau to finish a creditable 11th against strong competition in the blue-riband FIA Formula Regional World Cup.

2025 will see Rinicella’s fourth year with the Dutch team, his FRECA season coming on the back of a successful second campaign in the Spanish Formula 4 Championship in which he proved a consistent frontrunner. Building on his pair of podiums in 2022, Rinicella collected his first two wins, 12 podiums and four pole positions on his way to a close third in the 2023 championship. In the following winter, the young Italian got a very successful first taste of Eurocup-3 when he competed in a pair of Winter Series races at Motorland Aragon to convincingly win both of them.

“I’m truly happy to stick with MP for my first assault for Eurocup-3 glory”, said Rinicella. “They have supported me all through my single-seater career, so moving forward with them makes a lot of sense. Building on my year of FRECA experience, it’s my intention to fight for wins and podiums in Eurocup-3, where MP have been the dominant team this year. I hope to be able to contribute to the team repeating their 2024 teams title and return to the winners’ circle in 2025. I will be counting down the days to the start of the season!”

“Valerio has been a valued member of the MP family for three years now, and it’s great news that he is staying on for another season”, said Sander Dorsman, MP Motorsport’s team principal. “We’ve celebrated victory together and stayed strong through the inevitable disappointments. Now we aim to add many more highlights in 2025, thanks to Valerio, Maciej and the other drivers that we plan to sign for our Eurocup-3 campaign next season.”

Before stepping up to single-seaters, Rinicella plied his trade in the Italian karting scene, moving into the WSK Super Master Series and Euro Series at 60 Mini level in 2019. In a pandemic-restricted 2020 season, Rinicella was a regular top-five runner in the FIA European Karting Championship at OK Junior level while also taking in WSK’s Euro Series and Super Master Series. In 2021, he continued in the same series, now racing at OK level, before eyeing his move to single-seaters.
