Gładysz stays with MP Motorsport for Eurocup-3 graduation

Eurocup 3 — December 17, 2024

Young Polish single-seater sensation Maciej Gładysz will remain with MP Motorsport for his graduation to the burgeoning Eurocup-3 series. The 16-year-old from Tarnów is MP’s first signing in a multi-car line-up with which the Dutch team aims to continue its support of the Spanish-run series.

Gładysz will step up to Eurocup-3 following a storming rookie season in Spanish Formula 4 that saw him take three wins, eight podiums, three pole positions and a fastest lap on his way to third in the final standings. Preceding his strong Spanish F4 Championship run, the youngster also claimed third in the Formula Winter Series run for Formula 4 cars while in the process grabbing the series’ rookie title.

“I’m thrilled to move on to my next challenge with MP Motorsport“, said Gładysz. “I’m looking back on a strong first year in which I achieved what I aimed for, and I feel I’m ready to take a step up the single-seater ladder. I have really grown into the team, who have also been very strong in Eurocup-3 this season, so it’s a no-brainer to stay with them as we go into the winter break preparing for the new season. The 2025 Eurocup-3 calendar looks really exciting, and I can’t wait to get started at the Red Bull Ring in the spring, as well as kicking off the Spanish Winter Championship at Jérez in February!”

“Maciej has been nothing short of a revelation in his rookie year in motorsport and fully deserves his immediate promotion to Eurocup-3”, said Sander Dorsman, MP Motorsport’s team principal. “Taking three wins in his first season and a very competitive third in the championship was all we could have asked for, so we would like to keep Maciej in the MP family and together make the step up to the next level. MP Motorsport is all about accelerating talent – and that’s exactly what we are doing here.”

Born into a motorsport family with a long tradition in rallying and racing – grandfather Janusz was a rally star while father Adam was a multiple Polish champion in touring cars and GTs – Gładysz made a name for himself as a nine-year-old by becoming a Polish karting champion in only his second year. Expanding his career abroad, the youngster soon hit the top by taking second in the 2019 WSK Super Masters Series while claiming the second of his three national titles.

After signing an Italian works contract, Gładysz won the 2020 WSK Open Cup at Mini level while taking third place in the Trofeo Andrea Margutti before graduating to OK Junior level and lifting the title in the 2021 FIA Karting Academy Trophy. In 2022, Gładysz continued his strong OK Junior form by grabbing fourth in the FIA World Karting Championship and second in the WSK Euro Series and claiming the Champions of the Future title, before making his single-seater debut in Spanish F4.
