Sergio Sette Câmara gives MP Motorsport its second Formula 2 victory in history

MP Motorsport has taken the second win in its GP2/F2 history at Spa last weekend. In Sunday’s sprint race Sergio Sette Câmara beat the opposition after a rocket start.

Powering away from the second row, the youngest driver in the field immediately grabbed the lead into the first corner. On the opening laps, Sette Câmara’s closest rival Nyck de Vries momentarily closed in to within a second but after that the Brazilian opened up a gap that he maintained to three laps before the end, when the safety car came out for a severe accident to Nobuharu Matsushita’s ART car. The race ended under the safety car.

It was the second time that MP Motorsport was victorious in GP2/Formula 2. The first win came at Sochi in 2014 when Marco Sørensen took victory in the sprint race.
